About the UK Outbound Travel Group

In 2022, CEO of The Advantage Travel Partnership, Julia Lo Bue-Said, founded the UK Outbound Travel Group, a lobbying group to support and represent the UK Outbound Travel industry.

During the pandemic, the Government was slow to acknowledge the unprecedented challenges and financial burdens facing the UK Outbound Travel sector. The group was therefore formed to ensure that the Government recognises the value and particular nuances of the sector in future and provides support where needed.

The Group currently comprises The Advantage Travel Partnership (ATP), The Specialist Travel Association (AITO) and Government approved bonding association (ABTOT), who together represent some 700 independent agents and more than 570 independent and specialist operators.

Since 2020, we have achieved a great deal in raising the profile of the UK Outbound Travel sector within Westminster. Our group serves as a powerful lobbying voice for hundreds of travel businesses. We engage with MPs, Ministers, Policymakers and Special Advisers to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the UK Outbound Travel sector. Through dialogue and collaboration, we seek to shape policies that support our industry. For example, our successful MP Engagement Program has seen over 50 constituency MPs visit their local travel businesses to further understand the challenges our sector faces.
